Executive summary

Waterstop Solutions is committed to providing a high standard of service. Our Directors, Harold Du Toit and Chris Anderson, and our NSW Manager, Adrian Schokman, and our specialist technicians share more than 120 years of industry-leading remedial waterproofing and concrete repair experience.

 

As a specialist remedial contractor, we solve complex problems in the built environment with innovation, precision, and care. Our team delivers exceptional service, lasting results, and practical remedial solutions that everyone can rely on—project after project.

 

The best measure of our success is the “follow-on” and referral work from our existing clients.

 

Our commitment to safety and our impact on the environment always takes first priority.

 

Our approach to quality is to plan; control; monitor and grow from the outcomes. Quality assurance is a tool for us; the client and the supplier to micromanage the critical elements of their project that ultimately produces an optimal result.

 

With limited training opportunities for our field of expertise in Australia, we have invested in sending our project manager to Singapore, the USA and Germany (recognised leaders in this field) to undergo extensive training. This provides us with the foundation for further development and up-skilling of our Australian workers.

History

Looking at Brisbane’s current cityscape, you will see numerous buildings and structures that comprise the remedial and/or repair work of Waterstop Solutions.  February 2025 sees Waterstop Solutions celebrating its 16th year of operation, and we’d like to share with you some of our proud achievements, milestones and exciting developments over this time:

 

Through their work at Waterstop Solutions, our teams have left their mark on countless signature projects across the Brisbane CBD, the Southeast region of Queensland, Sydney and the New South Wales Region. 

 

We are the service provider in our field of expertise for government and privately-owned major civil infrastructure for SEQ Water, Utilita & Urban Utilities, the M4 and M5 tunnels in Sydney, the Brisbane road tunnel network: Airport Link Tunnel, Clem 7 tunnel, Airport Link, Legacy Way and Cross River Rail.

We are a family-owned business established by Harold Du Toit in 2009 to service the construction of the Clem 7 tunnel. Since its inception, Waterstop Solutions and its team have helped grow the company into a well-respected entity. Our enthusiasm and passion help us achieve our goals and expand our horizons without losing focus on what got us where we are.

 

We strive for excellence in service and ensuring an outcome that will continue to keep our company at the forefront. In early 2011, due to positive growth from the Airport Link tunnel project, we have focused on improving policy and procedures, ensuring projects are well managed and exceed client expectations.

 

At Waterstop Solutions, we take great pride in our ever-growing portfolio of projects completed on time and within budget without compromising quality or safety.

Waterstop Solutions NSW team

Waterstop Solutions NSW Manager Adrian Schokman (3rd from the left) is a licenced builder with a degree in Environmental and Civil Engineering. In 2023, he obtained the new NSW Registered Design and Building Practitioner’s Licence.

He has 28 years of experience in the building industry in Sydney, of which he has spent 22 years thriving in the remedial building sector. He distinguishes himself by demonstrating robust, in-depth expertise in building defect remediation.

He is known as a positive and courteous solution-focused person who displays integrity and an unyielding commitment to delivering excellent customer experience.

By law, waterproofing companies in Queensland require only 1 licenced tradesperson. Waterstop Solutions has many qualified staff members with a Certificate III in Waterproofing.

Other team members possess qualifications in Project Management and Business Management. It is highly uncommon for a company in our field to have so many qualified staff, and this is something of which Waterstop Solutions is very proud.

 

Waterstop Solutions’ mission is to be the best at what we do, and this has spearheaded our own product development to continually improve upon what already exists in the marketplace.

 

To honour our commitment to “Quality Service, Quality Solutions”, Waterstop Solutions developed, and now delivers, an in-house remedial repair training program to all Technicians.

 

A depth of technical knowledge and experience, along with a proud reputation for integrity and reliability, has made Waterstop Solutions the go-to company for many Defect Managers working for major construction companies across Queensland.

 

Knowing that the climate of the marketplace can change rapidly, Waterstop Solutions is determined to remain dynamic and perceptive of current trends.  Since the recent slow-down in civil construction across Southeast Queensland, Waterstop Solutions has restructured and refocused to apply its skills-set to a broader market, targeting specialised domestic solutions through to major civil projects. 

 

In this way, Waterstop will provide quality service and solutions to homeowners, commercial operators, civil contractors and more, who wish to “benefit from major civil projects experience” for many years to come.

Waterstop Solutions has policies and procedures that have been developed to meet industry standards. Constant review and development in how we conduct our business benefits not only the company, but also our clients and employees. Guided by the health and safety of our employees, our impact on the environment, and our responsibility to provide a quality service, we monitor and adapt to accommodate changes that impact us.

 

The Polyurethane resins we predominantly use (TamPur 130 and TamPur 150) for leak sealing and crack injections have been tested by AWQC for use in contact with drinking water. The Water Potability Certificates for TamPur 130/150 confirm they have been product tested and are compliant with the AS/NZA 4020 and the latest standard.
