We apply our moisture reactive polyurethane technology under sunken concrete to lift, re-level and stabilise it, to deliver a permanent solution. Subsiding slabs and footings, and other such issues, can be remedied with this technology.
This expanding polyurethane (PU) resin injection technology is primarily used for slab jacking. It raises, corrects and strengthens moving and sunken concrete structures on, or in, the ground.
With minimal interruption to traffic, our structural expanding PU resin can re-level sunken slabs and re-support moving slabs quickly, accurately and economically in:
- Car parks
- Hardstand areas
- Loading docks
- Warehouse distribution centres
Our resin injection method allows even the heaviest vehicles, such as forklifts, trucks, buses and airplanes, to run smoothly over the treated area within minutes after the job has been completed.
Polyurethane is injected underneath existing concrete. It is fast acting – expanding up to 30 times its volume within seconds. The controlled placement of materials ensures that the ground in the treated area is “glued” together, stabilising against future erosion in the immediate location.
Because the polyurethane can be open celled and permeable, this system will allow water to slowly seep through, if an application so requires, preventing pore pressure build up and reducing possible future erosion adjacent to the treated area.
In cases such as sinkholes, we may reinforce the polyurethane (PU) system with aggregate for added compressive strength and continuous ground support.
During construction, ground instability can cause soil slippage which often requires stabilisation works prior to conducting additional excavation for building foundations or building retaining walls. Once a building is already in place, ground instability can cause movement of the building or structure, resulting in internal or external wall cracks, excessive control joint movement, sunken floors and more.
Ground instability can happen naturally and it can be exacerbated by issues such as soil compaction, erosion or excessive excavation. Without soil stabilisation in the case of erosion being a contributing factor, it will lead to further erosion and damage to structures such as; further deterioration in building elements, embankment slippage on industrial sites and the ability for wall cracks to reappear.
