Failing gyprock proved to be a leaking crack in the balcony soffit
As a remedial waterproofing solution to treat the damp crack in the balcony soffit, our Sydney team of leak sealing specialists injected the length of the concrete crack with a hydrophilic polyurethane resin.The injection system creates a three-dimensional waterproof seal inside the building element by injecting a high-quality hydrophilic polyurethane resin under high pressure. The benefit of our leak sealing injection system is that it provides a flexible seal to the full depth of the treated crack. It fault finds and treats unidentified at-risk adjacent areas, offers additional protection to any steel reinforcing in the path of the crack and slows the corrosion to any possible compromised reinforcing steel or yet to be.
Once the leak sealing injections were completed, the injection ports were removed, and the holes were plugged with a repair mortar. The leak seal injected crack in the balcony soffit was coated with 2 coats of reverse side membrane before the Villaboard was replaced and the ceiling was painted to complete the works.
