Drought in 2023: Will We Experience It?
In May, Australia experienced rainfall that was 72.8% below average, marking the second-lowest May rainfall on record. Furthermore, soil moisture levels were below average across a significant portion of eastern Queensland, the Hunter District, coastal pockets, inland New South Wales, north-west Victoria, parts of South Australia and Tasmania, and extensive areas in the west and south of Western Australia.

Waterstop Solutions supports water supply authorities in QLD and NSW by providing essential remedial leak sealing and concrete repairs for water infrastructure in preparation for periods of declining rainfall and limited water availability.
When it comes to periods of declining rainfall and limited water availability, Waterstop Solutions is grateful for the opportunity to contribute in a small way by assisting the water supply authorities in QLD and NSW with remedial leak sealing, waterproofing, and concrete defect repairs for water retention tanks, reservoirs, water treatment plants, and other water infrastructure assets.
It’s truly encouraging to witness that drought preparedness is a fundamental aspect of the water infrastructure maintenance program. Actions certainly speak louder than words! 👏
Reducing leaks (egress) in water retention structures is always crucial, but it becomes even more critical during times of rainfall deficiencies and reduced water availability. Moreover, when clean and reliable potable water quality is required, it is essential to seal and protect the water retention tank or reservoir from the ingress of polluting liquids and materials as well.
Our leak sealing and concrete repair specialist team recently conducted remedial high-pressure leak sealing injections to address active leaks, removed existing joint sealants, and installed premium joint sealants in the compromised sections. In fact, we successfully completed remedial works on approximately 10 vertical joints for a drinking water reservoir in Brisbane.
If you have any issues with cracking concrete slabs, structural cracks, concrete deterioration, moisture, seepage, efflorescence, rising damp and/or high-flow active leaks in concrete structures, we would be happy to assist you. You are welcome to contact us with any questions that you may have.
