Brisbane weather: City to get month’s rainfall in a weekend
Courier Mail reports today, 24th August 2018, that A WET and possibly thundery weekend is forecast across southern Queensland, with Brisbane expected to reach its average monthly rainfall total in just three days, starting today.
Brisbane is going to get a lot of rain this weekend, starting today 24 August 2018. We wish for the farmers that they also get a large portion of this liquid gold.
Be prepared for the wet weather season!
If you have had seepage issues in the past during big rain events, and you have forgotten about the problem during the long and extremely dry season we have been having for months, then it’s time to seriously consider giving a remedial waterproofing professional a call today for an inspection.
Seepage issues may typically originate through a crack in the concrete, a masonry wall or created by hydrostatic pressure under the foundation caused by the rising groundwater table.
By ignoring a leak in your building, such as the basement, you may be creating other problems in your home, such as destruction of building materials, mould growth and moisture damaged belongings.
As an example, water ingress through the floor to wall joint can lead to devastating white ants/termite infestation.
We have seen examples where timber frames were soaking up water like a sponge, and over time turning it into a big feast and a brilliant moist place for the white ants/termites to build multiple nests.
This passageway of water seeping through the floor to wall joint creates an invitation for the white ants to enter, colonise and destroy large areas of the home.
When a water leak goes on undetected, the increased moisture level causes the wood fibres to soften.
The softened wood fibres will, in turn, make it easier for the white ants/termites to chew through the cellulose in addition to providing the white ants with the source of water that they need to thrive.

A positive side waterproofing will not be capable of sealing and stopping water from passing through the construction joint between the floor and the wall.
However Waterstop Solutions proven injection methods in the floor/wall joint with a flexible polyurethane grout, combined with negative membrane application to the affected walls will create a deep flexible seal and stop water passing through the block wall and the construction joint between the floor and the wall.
